Guerrilla Campaign: Montreal’s Traffic Cone Game
Montreal is infamous for its abundance of traffic cones, a running joke among locals and a constant reminder of the city’s ongoing construction. On Point Agency turned this shared frustration into a playful guerrilla campaign.
We conceptualized "Steal A Cone," a mini-game within The Homies Network app. Players collected digital cones from real construction sites using a map powered by Montreal’s official road closure data. A leaderboard tracked top players, with prizes encouraging friendly competition.
To promote the game, we created a quirky ad featuring the Homies team “stealing” cones and loading them into a truck—only to be caught by law enforcement. The ad humorously invited players to use the app to “steal” cones instead.
This locally inspired campaign was developed to create buzz through humour and relatability, to launch with a closely tied press strategy campaign. The release date is not yet set.
The Homies Network Explainer Video
The Homies Network needed a video for La Ruche to inspire support within strict content guidelines and tight financial constraints. We crafted an explainer across multiple shoot days, showcasing their mission, app usability, and team’s personality, delivering an unforgettable story that balanced creativity with practicality.
